Athena(Jiao) Wu

Athena Wu is the managing director of Wenz & Associates Inc.. As a native Chinese, Ms. Wu understands the Chinese language, culture and business environment very well. Her professional expertise includes financing, newbuilding and other shipping related business. Throughout her career, Ms. Wu has worked with many international companies to improve their business in China.

Prior to Wenz, Ms. Wu was the president of Topcare International, a company that advises newbuilding deals and sells marine equipment to Chinese shipyards. She also worked at Tyco Fire & Security in Shanghai; successfully developed business and increased Tyco’s brand awareness in the marine market in China.

Ms. Wu holds an MBA specializing in finance and marketing from New York University, Stern School of Business and a BA from Xiamen University in China.

Ms. Wu is also the Secretary General of Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce America, actively participating in business communication and high-level bilateral government dialogues between United States and China.

Kenneth C. Froewiss

Kenneth C. Froewiss is a member of the advisory board of Wenz & Associate. Mr. Froewiss retired in 2009 as a Clinical Professor of Finance at the New York University Stern School of Business, where he has taught since 1997. His areas of expertise are investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Despite having retired from full-time teaching, Mr. Froewiss continues to be a member of the board of directors of an insurance company and serves as chair of the board of a family of mutual funds.

Prior to joining the Stern faculty, Mr. Froewiss was a Managing Director in the investment banking area of J.P. Morgan, and was responsible for the firm’s relationships with insurance company and mutual fund clients in North America. In that capacity, he advised on numerous mergers and restructuring transactions in the financial services industry, and was also involved in both public and private offerings of securities for a variety of companies. Earlier in his career, he had worked as an economist in the bond-trading areas of both J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs and as a member of the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Mr. Froewiss received his Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University, where he also did his undergraduate work. He studied for a year at the Indian Statistical Institute on a Rotary International Fellowship and served in the U.S. Army as a Russian translator.

He has published numerous articles and reviews in a variety of economic journals and has spoken at conferences in the United States, Europe, China, and Japan.
